XB3002

IP Opportunity:  An IP based around ‘post apocalyptic racing’; across a variety of environments racers compete in a grand prix of races for their chance at heaven!

IP Justification: I believe that by combining racing and the apocalypse, an IP of "Post Apocalyptic Racing" would prove popular with a large audience. This idea has proved marketable by the research I have done and the trends I have shown.

Game Genre: Racing / Arcade Racer

Target Audience: 14 – 30

Game Description: Players must win races against opponents across dangerous environments. Players can use weapons whilst both alive and dead to harm opponents and knock them out of the race. Player will have total customisability for their vehicle, and will have to create one or choose from a preset one when they start the game. Players will be able to buy upgrades and change the set up of their car between races in the garage with money they win.

Style: The game has a cell shaded gritty feel to it, with a bold edge detection. Designs for the game should have a gothic influenced look about them. The game will be fast paced, very graphic and ‘in your face’ – utilising 3D displays to add a more immersed feeling for the gamer.

Story and Activity: Set after the apocalypse, racers compete in the Rapture Grand Prix, a series of 14 races where the overall winner gets ascended to heaven!

Marketing: The game will be sold on consoles, but will also be sold to arcades around the world – especially catering to Japan and Korea where arcades are extremely popular. When people buy the game for a console they will also receive a special memory card which not only fits into their console but will also fit into the arcade machines. This allows players to take their save game with them, as well as car setups etc. The game will be marketed as extremely competitive, and a global competition to find the best racer will spark a lot of popularity and interest.
